ARTE NOAH Award 2023

ARTE NOAH – Kunst hilft Tieren in Not has been supporting domestic animal welfare for many years. Every two years, the organisation holds a large charity sales exhibition which has since become an established event in the Austrian art world. Ludwig Haas, chairman of ARTE NOAH, has convinced several renowned artists including Gottfried Helnwein, Christian Ludwig Attersee, Günter Brus, Herbert Brandl, Hermann Nitsch, Elfie Semotan, and Tomak to donate their work for a good cause.

ARTE NOAH along with the Municipality of Feldbach, invites submissions for the up-and-coming art scene. This invitation is especially directed at Austrian as well as international aspiring artists whose focus is applied and fine arts, photography, caricature, and comics. The topic of the artworks to be submitted is “Verwurzelung”.

The submissions will be evaluated by a specialist jury. The best artists will have the opportunity to present their artwork to the public alongside renowned artists as part of the ARTE NOAH charity sales exhibition in the art gallery in Feldbach (opening day: Thursday, 22 June 2023). In addition to a strong media presence, this will be a great opportunity to develop wide-ranging contacts through the ARTE NOAH network in order to gather important references for future work. As a special highlight, the Municipality of Feldbach will invite all award winners to the ARTE NOAH–Workshop Days, scheduled to take place from 25th to 27th August in the "Kulturwerkstatt" Feldbach. The artworks created there under artistic supervision will be presented to the public.

Application guidelines:

The competition is limited to aspiring artists with no restrictions on age and a focus on applied and fine art, photography, caricature, and comics. Every artist may submit up to two artworks. The format of these works must not be larger than 120 x 100 cm, and must be framed (no stretcher frames). In case the submission is a large, heavy sculpture, the artist must send pictures and a detailed description of the sculpture to kontakt@arte-noah.at in advance. Along with the submission, artists must provide their name, address, phone number, email address, and a detailed description and the price of the artwork. The winners are determined by an independent jury.

The artists consent to make the award-winning artworks available free of charge to the ARTE NOAH charity sales exhibition as a donation for animal welfare. Non-award winning artworks must be picked up by the artists at their own expense within two weeks after evaluation by the jury. No liability is assumed, the judges' decision is final.
